As a DFW Printing Company, Inc., client who uses File Transfer Protocal (FTP), you are on the cutting edge of technology in today's publishing business. To help keep you there, we have developed a Digital Prepress Customer Pre-Check Sheet for your use in sending files to DFWPC.

The Pre-Check Sheet is a checklist to aid you in preparing files for FTP output at DFWPC. By following this checklist, your files will flow smoothly through the output process and decrease the risk of mistakes. Also, for best results, the following Naming Convention for files is recommended, so they may be easily recognized by our pre-press staff during processing. Files should be named in order of page number, account name, whether they are color or black/white and print date.

For example:

001-Customer-Name-Date or 021-C-thedailygazette-05-01-03 (page 21 of The Daily Gazette to be printed in color on May 1, 2003).

By using the Naming Convention, we can also automatically pre-flight and e-mail customers with potential file problems.
